Empowering South Asian Healthcare/Research Professionals
Program Structure
All program participants (mentors and mentees) are expected to engage in the following activities each month:
Community of Practice Calls
Each month, the SAHRC will host an online, facilitated Community of Practice call. This session is designed for participants to:
Share ideas, best practices, and questions.
Exchange knowledge on South Asian health research.
Work through research-related challenges.
Learn from fellow researchers and discuss emerging trends.
Engage in academic discussions about research findings pertinent to racialized populations.
These calls are an opportunity to build connections, share resources, and expand your professional network within the field of South Asian health research.
One-on-One Mentorship Sessions
Mentors and mentees are required to complete two hours of one-on-one sessions each month. These sessions:
Can be scheduled as a single two-hour meeting or divided into multiple shorter sessions based on mutual preference.
Will take place via Zoom.
Are tailored to the specific topics and interests of each mentor-mentee match.
Monthly Summary Form
Each participant must complete a monthly summary form to:
Highlight key insights and takeaways from their sessions.
Provide feedback on the mentorship program.
Share any feedback related to their match.
This form should be submitted any time after the two-hour requirement is met, but no later than the end of each month.
